Join us in our fight to keep families together by being a part of Cardboard City 2024. Your support helps to break down the barriers families face, allowing them to return to stability. With your help, we will continue to change lives with 82% of our families returning to stability in housing.
We are hosting our fourteenth annual fundraiser, “Cardboard City” on November 15-16at Lakewood Church. With your support, Cardboard City means families with children will have a path to stability.
We are asking participants to set a goal of collecting $100 in donations to change lives. We want to be there for the next family needing help.
Build your cardboard structure for the evening. You can sleep in what you build. If you plan to sleep in a tent or car, we ask that you add a cardboard structure to your sleeping arrangements. We will have large flat pieces of cardboard and a limited amount of tape. Be creative! Bring decorations, markers, paint, tape, signage, props or anything else to create your structure. You will be given a fact about family homelessness and ask to incorporate into the design.
Tackle The Social Service Maze! This is an interactive experience. You will have “your family “scenario for navigating stations to get the resources your “family” needs to move out of homelessness. You’ll need to find shelter, food, a job and more. This is an original program with the centers staffed by FSCJ Human Services students through the Center of Civic Engagement.
Be our guest for a simple dinner. This will be served food line style thanks to Lakewood Church.
