Ending Homelessness One Family at a Time
Since 2006, Family Promise of Jacksonville has helped hardworking families in our community stay safely housed and on the path to stability. Across the country, families with children now make up 30% of America’s homeless population — a reminder that homelessness is not just an individual issue, but a family crisis.
Most of the parents we serve are working—often more than one job—but a single unexpected crisis can push them to the brink of eviction. We step in quickly to prevent homelessness whenever possible. And when a family comes to us after losing their home, we provide shelter, support, and a clear path forward. Our model works: 88% of the families we serve regain long‑term stability.
Our Belief
We believe in the dignity and resilience of every family. When parents and children work together and have access to the right tools and support, they can overcome barriers, navigate community resources, and move toward lasting stability. Family Promise equips families with the knowledge and guidance to break the cycle of poverty — but they are the heroes of their own stories.
